    Hi All,

I'd like to be able to change the color of my scrollbars and icon text, but they are grayed out? Those and a bunch of others that are normally accessed by right-clicking the desktop and choosing "properties | appearance | advanced ". Any ideas?

    Thanks!

AFAIK that is 'by design' - in other words that facility is not available. You can change the colour scheme o'all, but that may not be to your liking :)

To change the colour of the icon text I found these hits .....

When you go to properties | appearance | advanced and then use the "Items" drop down, are all items grayed out?

Pete, thanks for the links. My main problem is the scrollbars, the slider is almost the same color as the background on my laptop. Very hard to discern. I think the scrollbar code is for browser only? Or will it work on XP and non-MS apps too...

I found this area in the registry: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors" I can change these values, but nothing happens.

Steve, Most of my options are there and functioning, maybe 5 or 6 total items are greyed out, but don't you know, they'd be the ones that need changing!

Looks like the only option for the scrollbar is to change the width..

Might have to consider changing the color of the background;)

Hmmm, I wasn't clear enough and can't post a pic here to show you. The button of the slider is almost the same color as the background of the slider (the area the button slides up and down in). Makes it pretty hard to see the button... I'd love to be able to change any of the colors within the slider control.
