    Hello folks.
I'm trying to connect an XP and a Windows 10 together so I can use a printer on the XP machine, but without much luck.
XP is wireless and the Windows 10 is wired.
Windows 10 allows mw to create a Homegroup, but then doesn't see the XP machine once I do.
They are both using the same router to connect to the Internet, and work just fine.
I'm getting rid of a problem printer that is wired to the router.

    Set network to Private.
    Don't use Homegroup.
    Use password sharing.
Re-setup the shared printer on XP.

I haven't been able to progress on this issue, but will once it's possible.
To Admin. Please don't close this post. It will be a while before I can start looking at this again.

Well it has take me a while.
I've followed the suggetions, but I'm still having issues.

    The setup I have:
A PC with Windows 10 that has the printer attached to it (PC3). I've enabled sharing on the printer.
Two other PCs that have XP. They can see the PC3 ok when I try to add a printer. However when I double click on PC3 the printer isn't seen, so can't be added.

You have to be able to see the printer in Windows explorer (on the XP machine) - so you have to log into \\YourWin10Machine (with valid credentials).

\\YourWin10Machine = the Computer name as shown in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System.

Once you can login you can add the printer by Add a printer > Local printer attached to this computer > Create a new port > Local Port. For the Port Name enter \\YourWin10Machine\Printer Name
