XP and Paperport Scanner 5.x

After I installed XP, I am having compatibility issue with Paperport scanner 5.x software. My scanner is visoneer Paperport 6100.

Can anyone help me?

 

van_charlie: The news I'm about to give you is not good. A year ago when I got my new computer with Windows XP on it, my Visioneer scanner (model 8200, I think) wouldn't work with it. I downloaded a driver update from Visioneer that supposedly would make it XP compatible, but XP still wouldn't recognize the scanner even after that. It was only about a year old at the time and Visioneer already regarded it as "legacy" hardware. I've since had to give the thing away.

There have been a number of posts similar to yours. You might do a Search to check them out. Sorry I couldn't give you more pleasant news. Maybe somebody else will chip in and, hopefully, prove me wrong. Good luck.

 

You might try the Windows 98 compatibility.

But why bother? Go to Amazon and get a Visioneer 8700. $55 delivered to your door. Get a $30 rebate. Net $25. It even comes with USB cable and software. Works good. Better than what you got! Used 200% resolution and got a newspaper article to OCR as a word document!

Be sure to print out the invoice and rebate coupon at the time of purchase. Invoice is used in lieu of cash register receipt!
