I have XP Home with Sp1 (included) CD. I have one more day left to activate. I think I read someplace that with Sp1 you have 3 extra days to activate XP? Is this correct?

I'm using the Internet via my Cable company. I was thinking about adding a dial up modem for faxes, etc. Isn't a modem one of the "additions" XP looks for after activation when checking a system's configuration?

    Hi,
It is true that the modem is one of the checked components before activation, but it is not the only one. You will have no problem activating after a modem change.
