Came across an old Wyse terminal at work. It's the WY-50 model. On the back it has the keyboard connecter and two female DB25 connectors. One is marked modem, the other AUX.

I realize that to use this monitor on a Windows system that I wouldn't be able to use the keyboard. However, is there anyway I can hook this up to a Windows system to use as a basic monochrome monitor?

Color or resolution is not an issue as it would sit on our basement pc which is only used to hold files. No one ever actually uses it but it is nice to be able to see what's going on.

Anyone ever had any success with something like this?

    Hi,

Ran across a pair of these a few years ago myself. Can't recall if they were the same mod. no. as yours. I did a google search and found a website. The terminals I found had an onboard processor, about 25 or 50Mhz. If I remember correctly they'er used in a Thin Client setup.

    Thanks for the info.

I'm not very knowledgeable on Thin-Client. I understand the basics of it but that's it.

    1. Would the Wyse terminal hook up to a COM port on the host pc?

    2. What software do I need to take advantage of this? I've heard mumbling of MS Terminal Server when reading about Thin-Client. Are there any other applications that would perform the task?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary
