WSUS- Selfupdate service error message

    Error Message:

    Check your server configuration
    One or more Update Service components could not be contacted. Check your server status and ensure that the Windows Server Update Service is running. Non-running services: SelfUpdate


    I have uninstalled WSUS and reinstalled WSUS and the error message is still appearing. ????

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Have you checked to see if the service is present but just not starting?

    What credentials is it trying to use? May be a permissions issue.

    I found by assigning all unassigned IP's within IIS was the fix. Thanks for your help.
