    Hypothetically speaking..

Say a person had an old PC that he or she wanted to sell at a garage sale, and he or she installed XP Home using an OEM key (one that was purchased, not preinstalled) that came off of another older, trashed system that had not been used in years. Windows activated just fine through three reinstallations.

Now, I know that WPA checks on boot for major hardware changes, but once the product has been activated and everything checks out after several reboots, will there be any worry for the potential buyer? The COA sticker will be placed on the PC being sold.

    Hypothetically, of course.

If you are not getting any notification bubble that requests that you activate the system, you are home free. The new user should be able to assume the ownership without a problem.
