I am having a problem with Google Crome Browser, as soon as I start up Crome a message comes up WOT has crashed, and Crome crashes.
I have done a system restore to a date before the problem started, but that has changed nothing. I have tried re-installing Crome, same thing happens.
I haven't completely uninstalled Crome, as I don't want to loose a number of Bookmarks. I have tried the Crome Bookmark Manager, but it will not open, it just crashes.
Would I be able to remove WOT from the Registry with RegSeeker, then I might be able to re-install Crome.
    Any Ideas are welcome.

    Update:
I have managed to export my Bookmarks to Mozilla Firefox, un-installed Crome, downloaded and re-installed a new Crome. Result, same issue, will not open any page just crashes.

WOT is a Chrome Extension so if you
    • Open Chrome
    • Click on the three bars top/right hand icon with the three bars
    • Scroll down to tools > Extentions
    • Disable WOT (take the tick out), then relaunch Chrome
    How does Chrome perform now?

    kind regards,

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes I have removed WOT but Chrome is still constantly crashing, press Reload it will load but will not open any websites, it just crashes.
Un-installed it from Control Panel, installed a fresh version, but no change.

Chrome Help suggests a corrupted User profile and suggests to create a new one. But I have not been able to find a location where to do that.

    Hi Hawk22,

Apologies to you, I did not notice you were from Chelsea - Maybe this is the answer to your issue, or more exactly it was the answer to mine recently. I hope it works for you. Renaming Chrome corrupted default folder

    kind regards,

Hi and thanks, I have renamed Default as: "Backup default" no joy, again renamed Default as "Default2" same story. "Aw, Snap" Chrash, will not open any website just crashes, so I removed Chrome again. (Permanent)
Filled out the Support Questionnaire on why I am removing Chrome.
Did exactly as Chrome suggests, (SpywareDr) and tallin.
Not to worry Mozilla Firefox is working fine.

    Hi hawk22,

Really thought you would have success. I hope someone else may come by with an answer for your issue. The link SpywareDr gave did not work for me either, but as you know renaming the default folder did, although our issues were different with Chrome.

Glad at least you have joy with Firefox.

    kind regards,
