    Here is fine.

Give details on the 'disconnecting' and have you checked event logs on the server and some of the problem workstations for details?

No idea how the network is structured but if you have multiple switches or a routed network, a power blip could knock out one of those devices for a second which would probably disconnect any PCs that used them.

NEWT I have three switch connected using an uplink and all switches are connected to a UPS. check the event log for problem no errrors found except for duplicate name followed the instruction on the event log how to determine the conflict and found out that its the server that has a duplicate name and i don't think that it is the one that is causing the problem. all server and workstation are in a single network no router is installed and no internet. It is just a plain and simple LAN. Servers are 2 WINNT and 2 WIN2k running in mixed mode

Thanks for the physical layout information. I agree that probably is not the cause.

Hmmmm. Please post the event. Easiest to open the event, click on the icon below the up/down arrows to send a text copy to your clipboard, and paste it here. Also, are you seeing this on a server or on one or more workstations?
