I originally got the following message when I tried to access files in Task launcher. I reinstalled Works 2001 and Word 200. When I try to access MOSTLY Word Documents...in Task Launcher it feezes up and I get the messageagain.. "Cannot access the task you selected. Files needed to start the program may be missing, corrupted or may have been deleted. To resotre or replace the files reinstall the program and start again" I hit okay and the document I requested does eventually come up (some of the time). It doesn't seem to occur with Works files but all the word files.
Could it have anything to do with the message I get from the Asst. when trying to close some files. "normal dot was being edited by another word session. If you save this doc with the original name you will overwrite any changes made in another session. Do you want to save using the original name anyway.
If I press cancel (because I don't quite understand what it means) I get another message from the Asst. "Changes have been made that affect the global template normal.dot. Do you san to save changes. Can someone explain to me what this is all about. The other message I get sometimes is it is a READ ONLY File.

The accepted fix for this problem is to delete the file normal.dot. It will be recreated when you next open Word.

To easily do this, use the Windows Find feature to locate the file and then right click it and select Delete.

    Cheers. :)

    Task Launcher and Normal dot

Thanks for your answer to normal.dot. Still awaiting answer to my bigger problem. Must be a big problem because I usually get an answer and solve it within a day or 2.
