I tinkered around with the registry and the boot/login settings and I go to the login screen now (which is forced) and if i use my keypad at all, the whole screen locks, and not even the mouse pointer will move.

I don't have a floppy drive to do any command line repair, and don't have a Windows XP cd.

If this can't be fixed, atleast tell me, so i can consider other options. (such as buying windows xp)

mustardfromacat - Welcome to the Board :)
    That's a real problem :(

However, boot up the computer and hit F8 repeatedly - after the POST screen - which you may or may not see depending on the make of laptop - you should see a text based menu, one of the options on which is 'Last known good' - try that option.

EDIT - I see you posted re F8 in your other post so presumably you have tried it?
