Wordweb Will Not Open

I have a dictionary/thesaurus program called Wordweb. I have use it for years and like it a lot. Recently it will not open.

Usually the Wordweb GUI / program opens and puts an icon in the notification area for convenience.

If you minimize the program it puts another icon in the taskbar until you close it (leaving the one in the notifications area there so you can use it again if needed with out reopening it). Now neither icon shows so I can't use the program.

When I check task manager it shows running (wordweb.exe) under the processes tab.

Oddly enough Wordweb integrates into MsWord, and there I am able to open it just fine, just not from programs list under start menu or from a created shortcut on my desktop, or from the .exe in the program folder.

1.) I uninstalled and reinstalled the latestet version, didn't help.

2.) I did a repair on the taskbar / notifications area, didn't help.

3.) I checked taskbar customize settings, it is not there to hide or unhide.

I am stumped, any help or suggestions would greatly appreciated. I use the program a lot.

 

They have a new version as of earlier this month. If that's not the one you are using, it might be worth a try.

I'm showing a version number of 4.0 from the one I downloaded yesterday after reading about your problems.

It placed 2 .exe files on my PC with the same logo and apparently opening the same GUI but from the naming it looks like one is designed for taskbar and the other for application launch.

Does your hotkey work to open a window?

Have you tried uninstalling the version you have loaded now and installing a new one from a fresh download?
