So, earlier this evening I was working on an essay for school. I was also chatting with several people on icq and I went to hit the shortcut keys to open an incoming message (I hate it set to ctrl+shift+z) and my fingers slipped and I ended up hitting the wrong keys........and to my amazement, the computer started reading my essay aloud and then at the end said something like "End of Text "
So I thought to myself "I don't think Office XP has a built in Text-to-speech engine.........and I know I certainly don't have a separate one installed........what the heck is going on? "

So, I've been searching the internet for the past 30 minutes and I can't find ANYTHING on Word XP having a text to speech engine or how to use it

This is driving me crazy now cause I really wanna use it again!
Does anyone know how to access this feature?
    Thanks!

As far as I know, the only text-speech engine with OfficeXP is for Excel.

Are you by chance running XP-pro/home? It comes with a pretty good engine.

    A little about it Here
