Sorry if this query is misplaced.

I'm writing a Word how-to-do-it for my home theatre system and it would be useful to have some dedicated symbols like those in my equipment manuals.

I'm aware that there are some symbols inbuilt in Word, but I was thinking more along the lines of specialized symbol sets.

    Anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks TonyT - yes, I meant Fonts.

I'd already googled the site that you linked and checked out their offerings but there was nothing there that was suitable. Or that I would have paid for.

So I fell back on an old stand-by method: Photocopy the device's remote control (face down on the platen) and then edit the resultant pic in Photoshop.

Then chuck the pic into a Word doc's text box and draw arrows and text all over the place.

This method produced a good result, actually.

I asked because there are lots of free font collections for electronic circuitry and circuit diagrams.

So I thought that someone, somewhere might have produced some dedicated fonts for hifi, vcr, tv docs. Free.

    Obviously not.

Come to think of it, just how does one go about creating a font like this?

Thanks TonyT. Good link and lots of interesting fonts there but nothing like I want.

Seems like I'd be better off to build my own. You mentioned software for this?
