word perfect 2002

trying to install word perfect10 2002/quattro pro 10 corel pack. it came with my pc yrs ago.never installed it. cd-rom asks for a serial#, the one on the sticker is different than the one already filled in boxes. i disabled mcafee virus, lowered firewall setting, but it won't complete installation. i may have to call the toll # at corel. os-xp-sp3-ff3-ie8-2.4p4-1 ram. steve, sorry for putting my os info in the wrong place. OS>xp-sp3. a msg comes up saying "the setup wizard cannot complete the installation ". the same thing happened when i tried to install "spycatcher" on the 26th. spycatcher required msoft virtual c++ in order to install. an error msg said" error code 2755" when i tried to install the c++. i seem to be having problems lately removing some programs. i had to install revo uninstaller to get rid of a couple that would'nt leave using add/remove. i've tweaked some registry keys in order to help performance & deleted a few un-needed files but i can't see how that would be causing this.my pc hung up(froze sun afternoon for a few minutes, never had that happen for so long before. i might have to do a sys restore & go back 2-3 weeks to undo some changes. i know the registry is nothing to fool around with if you don't know what you're doing, but these are simple changes i read about that i can undo. as for the corel pack, i can't type in the serial #'s on the cd because the boxes won't erase the ones already in there that must have come up when i loaded the cd. maybe the #'s are an udated version. i'm going to call corel tech this week. someone told me to install the windows installer cleanup utility, but it would't install either with a msg saying " the installer pkg could not be opened, verify the pkg exists,that you can access it, contact the vendor to verify this is a valid installer pkg ". obviously something is not right with my windows installer, i'm guessing.
