I have a client with an unusual problem.

They have Win2k on a computer that is only 6 months old and when they scroll down a web page with IE the page automatically scrolls back to the top.

Also if they have MS Word open and leave it idle for a couple of moments characters begin to be typed into the document.

I've seen the IE scrolling issue before but it's been some years ago and can't remember what the solution was.

    Any suggestions?

One cause I have read about is a system where the speech input feature was turned on (accessibility) and the app was responding to conversation heard thru the microphone.

It would at least be worth a look.

Hi, the ghost in word is becoming a feature of speech input , if you want to keep this feature enabled our techs have put a mute into the pick up mic you could do the same (make it swichable) For IE go to tools/ internet options/ advanced/ and make sure use smooth scrolling is checked, which it should by default. Also run internet repair from /add remove programs/control panel/ internet explorer/ repair.

    I'll try your suggestions

    Thanks for your input.

I'll see if these help my client.

    :)
