Word document problem

    Hello,

    Does anyone know why miscellaneous symbols, such as a musical note, would show up in a Word document on one computer but not another?

    These notes are not put there - they just show up.

    The musical notes may well be formatting symbols - check under the View menu of each copy of Word that the view is the same - normal, print layout, etc. You may need to expand the menu by clicking on the downward facing arrowheads at the bottom of the dropdown menu to see all options.

    Check also under Tools > Options > View and see if any of the formatting marks boxes are checked on the copy of Word which shows these symbols.

    Thanks for the reply. I'll have my friend try it. It shows on her computer, but not mine when the documents is forwarded or printed.
