    Hi,

I'd like to put page numbers in my document, bit I want the numbering to start from the second page of my document. How can I do that? I use ms word 2007.

    Thanks

Insert Page Number->you should see a format button and then a "page numbering ->start at" option.

But that is different. if I set it 2, it'll start the page numbering from 2 and not 1. I want the first page blank, and I want the page numbering to start from the second page.

Okey, I use Office XP (2002) but it's possibly the same. I'll probably display my bad english, trying to explain ... ... since my computer speaks Swedish.

Anyway, to test I opened Word 2002 to create a new document. The first thing I did was to click "Insert" > "Page number ". In the dialog box that appeared, I unchecked "Show on first page ", clicked the "Format button" > clicked the radio button for "Start with" and scrolled down to "0 ".

After that, there was no page number on the first page and when I expanded the document to include a second page, page #1 appeared on the second page.

    dtommy79,

The same controls that Christer describes are there, but they are in different places.

Here is what you can do:
    1. open your Word 2007 doc
    2. In the "HEADER & FOOTER" section of the "INSERT" tab of the Ribbon, click PAGE NUMBER > FORMAT PAGE NUMBER
    3. Set the page numbering to start at 0
    4. Then click FOOTER > EDIT FOOTER
    5. When you do this, the Ribbon changes to "DESIGN "
    6. In the "Options" section, place a check in "Different First Page ".

This will remove the 0 from the first page and start page 2 at 1
