This has been an annoyance forever, and I know I'm not the only one out there. But I'm not searching the right terms in google to get my needed results. Hoping someone knows a trick, or can point me to a site that explains this.

I'm developing a form in Word 03 that requires signatures on it, inside a table (so I can't just run my underscores to the end of the page for a carriage return), and need to line up the signature lines using Times New Roman for my font.

    Signer 1: ___________
    Second Signer: _______
    Third: ____________

Or it looks similar to that - I exaggerated, but not by much. I get ragged lines that don't align to the right border of the cell, or even just line up with each other at any point. I don't have the good fortune of using a monospace font, so I'm stuck with a series of ragged lines on my right, instead of a professional-looking document.

This works in Word 2007 .....

    Create a table of 2 columns & 3 rows

By default alignment is Left - type in Signers in the first column

Set the alignment in the second column to right aligned and add underscores

Size columns to suit and format for no border
