wmp11 finalizes burn whenever it wants

sometimes it will burn 9 songs sometimes we'll get to 12,but not the playlist it is supposed to be burning
but whats worse is that it does not give the cd up,it keep it and will not let me do anything to get it back,including shuting down the computer. i end up pushing the power button and removing cd with the old straighten paper clip method.
someone help me im doing my "favorites" and i have two blank cds left and a lot of songs to go. geez.

what i have done was see if there were any undates no and go to microsoft and they said that my question found no answers. wow.

this is an update. some of the problem or maybe most of the problem is that i was running windows media player 11 with media center edition 2002. and thats a no no,i found the read me about the 11 and the 2002 edition. oops

i rolled back to the wmp 10 and did it right this time,removed all that stuff that goes along with it instead of just the player like i did last time. which made microsoft go crazy and keep sneaking the 11 in with the updates until i turned off the auto updates and got the red shield in system tray.

anyway i m not sure that the problem is fixed because one: i have no more blank cds and two: the media center crashed on me then i was trying to burn that last cd. I had three cds the first i burned after i used nero general clean tool (that one finalized on the fourth from the last song on burnlist) the second did the pending and finalized on the first song. and like i said the media center crashed on the third and last cd (until i get money and head for walmart).

so i have a question. the media center burning seems awful slow after burning with the 10 and 11,do i have to use it? can i use the 10?
