just got a new laptop with a built in 802.11b/g wlan, it detected my network and asked for the wep key which I input and then it connected. the problem is it wont connect to the internet, I keep getting page cannot be displayed, I am running zone alarm so I disabled to see if that was the problem and still no internet. I tried connecting thru the ethernet port and everything worked i was able to get online. any ideas as to what the problem could be? my wireless router is a linksys befw11s4.

Don't know your experience level so I will post all of the steps.

Click Start / Run / type cmd hit enter.

    In the Cmd window type
    Code:
    ipconfig /all >test.txt
    and hit enter.

The go to your C: drive and find the test.txt document. It will be located at C:\test.txt
Open the document, copy and paste all of the text in this thread.

I am glad this issue got sorted.

One thing I forgot to mention, and it might not even apply in your case, is to not use a Passphrase generator for entering WEP or other security settings. The key generated by the router with a passphrase could well not be the same key generated by your wireless adapter if a passphrase is used.

    Enter the keys manually.
