I have two laptops, one win 7, one xp. The xp one won't connect to the wireless. The win 7 connects.

In the "Network Connections ". the wireless network connection has a red cross, and says Not Connected. When I right click it, then open Properties. It shows disabled. It should show enable! It doesn't, it only shows disable. I click on it and it only puts on a Red cross.

Any help on how to enable this wireless network on my xp laptop? It's been working great up to now.

I'm connected with a Ethernet cable to the modum.

The xp laptop is a Dell 1500 Vostro.

Control Panel > Network Connections > right click the wifi icon and select enable.

OK. Have a grandson that I changed out a bad Modem/Router and now his Vista laptop won't connect. All the other wireless laptops, phones, IPAD and IPOD do. Anything wired or wireless will connect but his laptop. It worked before. I need to start a thread on this when I have time to fool with it more.

That tool may be set to load at boot & it's not needed. Use Start > Run > msconfig > Startup tab and if listed, prevent it from loading at boot.
