Does it have a switch on it that may have got turned off by accident? What happens when you try to get on? Did you try a repair of the connection?

If the wifi adapter came with any connection software, disable it or remove it. Let Windows manage the wifi connection.

Hi deangmoxon, I had a look on Google and it could be a virus or have a look here:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic32957.html
This relates to a Belkin adaptor, but as Tony has suggested - let Windows handle your setup.
When you go to Control Panel > Network Connections > Right click on your Wireless Connection and you should see a list with Repair in it. Have you tried that? Cheers Neil.;)

I'm assuming you're on a comp with internet connection, so did you look at the link?
Most reported cases on Google said they had deleted the error file.
Did you try a Repair as that would be less drastic than a Fresh Install? Neil.

    Just a quick thought.

Have you tried connecting via an ethernet cable first, just to make sure that the problem is the wireless link.

I had a similar issue with an old XP box some time ago and the problem was finally solved by removing some Symantec software.

Used a different product and the whole issue went away.

I see no sign of a virus in your last reports, but then again, I'm no expert.

I do see that you use P2P software, while I don't see evidence of you running Anti-Virus software.

Which makes me wonder why you would not have a virus
