    Hi
My daughter has an HP Pavillion DM3 laptop, with windows 7

I set up the connection to the router, entered the wireless key, and it says it is connected, with an excellent signal.

But in IE, or in safari, there is no connection.

it works when I connect to the router using an ethernet cable, but not wirelessly, but skype works in wireless

There are 2 other laptops in the house, using vista, and they connect perfectly.

    Any help appreciated

    Thank you

Hi David C, Right click on your Network Icon (right Taskbar) > Right click Wireless Network Connection > Repair and see what happens. Neil.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply

I've been doing some googling & managed to answer my own question!

So if it helps, here it is:

Enter http://66.249.90.104 into address bar, if google comes up, the problem is DNS

    If so:

    (windows 7)
    Start
    control panel
    network & sharing centre
    change adapter settings
right click on your connection (eg BThomehub)
    Properties
Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and select Properties
Ensure that "Obtain DNS server address automatically" is selected

Hope this helps people with similar trouble

    Thanks
