I have a Dual-Band Netgear Router that, by default, has a block of 254 IP Addresses controlled by DHCP, but am told that only 32 Users can access it at one time.

Can anyone tell me why this should be?

    Many Thanks.

There should be a setting in the router interface, availabe by its IP in a Web browser, that lets you set the DHCP address range. In some routers, the range is 192.168.x.1-50. In other routers its 192.168.x.100-x.

There is usually another setting for # of DHCP users. You can change it.

Thank you for the reply, but it appears that no matter how many IP Addresses one assigns, the maximum no of users is 32.

Assigns where? The max can be 25x users. Check the router settings for DHCP Pool.

    What model router?

That's is what I thought, but this is the reply I have since received from NetGear Support.

"Our home routers are only capable of accommodating 16 wireless clients per radio frequency(2.4Ghz and 5Ghz spectrum). Therefore, the router is only capable of providing internet access up to 32 devices at one time. That includes the Wireless Guest clients. "
