I have a Compaq Evo N610c that each time the unit is powered off and back on the setting under Wireless Networks that reads, " Use Windows to configure my wireless network setting" is unchecked and I have to check the radio box in order to use my wireless connection. Any thoughts?

Try this, right click my computer and then click manage, double click services and applications, double click services. look down to the bottom and find wireless zero configuration and double click it. Change startup type to automatic. Now the service should start automatically upon each reboot.

The reason you have to change it every boot is because the wifi software that accompanies the device or a manufacturer wifi software is set to handle the wifi connections. This software is set to load at boot too. You don't need it. Find out what that software is, check its settings, turn off its wifi management and use MSCONFIG to stop its loading at all.

Sounds like that could be the issue. I won't have access to the laptop until Monday. I'll keep you posted.
    Thank you
