    Hi,

I have a wireless network at home and this works fine, however, when i burn a cd (either using nero or winamp) i notice that although in the system tray the network status shows "connected ", i do not have a connection. In fact I have to open the network connections disconnect and re-connect and everything returns back to normal.

Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Actually it's a matter of seconds to get the connection back, however it's an annoyance.

    Thank you for any replies.

The OS is Windows XP Home Edition and the adapter card i'm using is a Belkin (PCI Card). In the device Manager it's listed as Belkin N1 Wireless Desktop Card.

    Thank you

Are you using Windows to manage your wifi connection or Belkins ?

What brand computer? And how many watts is the power supply? Wifi requires a lot of power, as does CD burning. It could be that when CD burning the power is reduced to the point where the wifi adapter gets undervolted and cuts out.

Does this happen when listening to an audio CD as well?
