Can anyone please recommend the wireless networking products I need to install to network my Dell laptop (Model PPL; CP M233ST with Windows NT 4.0 WorkStation, Service Pack 6) to the cable modem I now have on my IBM desktop (with Windows 98). Thanks for your help. ... wdc

If the Win98 machine is always on, it may be cheaper just buying a wireless network card for both the desktop and laptop and using ICS on the win98 machine. If it's not always on I would probably recommend a Linksys wireless router. The router is a little more expensive than the two wireless card option.

What ICS stands for is Internet Connection Sharing

What this will do is essentially the same as a router, except with a little less flexabality (sp?)

You add the service from your windows 98 cd, from the network neighborhood properties.

I do believe www.techfest.com has a tutorial or two on it, but as you said, you may want to look further into it.
