hi.. my notebook is hp pavilion dv6700. Its been installed both OS of vista and XP SP2. I just bought a router linksys WRT150N the other day and set it up in my home. However when i log into Windows XP, and try to connect to the wireless network, it says the network may not be in range. It was impossible since the signal itself was excellent. When i log into vista, it connects well instead. No problem with that. The thing is, i need to do work on XP, therefore i can't afford it without internet connection. One last thing i tried, i tried connecting the notebook with ehternet cable. It work, but i can't walk around the house with a 1m cable sticking out the notebook. So, any suggestions that may help me?

Have you tried updating Windows XP ? Are you using some sort or authentication ? There is a known bug in XP SP2 which has been fixed by an update from Microsoft.

Have you tried getting into router menu n setting it to broadcast in wireless G instead of N?
Wireless N is newer then XP n having windows XP connect may be giving you the problem.

Unless have Linksys card in laptop it’s probably only receiving G anyway
