Wireless N

    Hi I have a wireless N router its netgear wnr34b and the signal is working throughout my house my laptop picks it up and my ps3 picks up the signal but my xbox 360 doesnt my network doesnt show up wirelessly at all on the xbox and im assuming its because the router is sending out just and n signal and i dont know how to configure the router to send out a g signal, also i know for a fact it works with the xbox 360 because something went wrong with the system and i had to send it back to microsoft and before i sent it to microsoft it was recieving a wireless signal so if someone can help me please do

    See this Netgear Manual and specifically the part re MODE in Wireless Settings. If the Xbox does not have wifiN then you'll have to set the router to B-G mode (130 kb/sec.) WifiN only works IF ALL clients are using wifi wifi cards, otherwise the router will auto-downgrade to the slower rates IF the router has an "auto" Mode. It appears that this router can use several modes, but does not have "auto" mode, thus set it to g mode.

    make sure that the router is broadcasting in g - not only in n - its probably a "mixed signal" setting

    - the biggest problem with wireless is neighbor's signals drifting in out of the blue and causing interference. You will get a strong signal but no internet

    easy way to solve is change the channel from the default channel number 6 to any other channel - 1 and 11 are first picks
    make sure the router is high and uncluttered
