Hi zhshqzyc, I have 3 different wireless mice. They all require switching off when you finish using your comp.
The most recent mouse I use, is a Microsoft Wireless Mobile mouse 1000 and it has a switch on the underside.
The packet claimed the battery would last 10 months !!!
But not if it was left switched on all the time.
There are wireless mice that automatically switch to sleep state after a few seconds of idle state, but they still must be turned off overnight or the battery will flatten. Cheers Neil.

I hear what retiredlearner is saying, but the fact is that I also use wireless mice - I never turn them off and the batteries last a good 6 months or so.

I strongly suspect that your mouse is faulty.

Yup, same as PeteC. Never switch them off & they last 6 months or more. Get a new mouse.

Definitely a bad mouse or a pack of expired batteries. My MS wifi mobile mouse 3000 will go about 6 months at least on 1 double-A battery.

Agree totally with Pete, Arie, and Tony - I have 3 wireless mice (MS and Logitech) on different computers and I never turn them off and all typically last 6 - 7 months. The 2 wireless keyboards, however, last about 15 months (no laser beam to fire up).

That said, all mine use 2 AA batteries.
