Hello everyone and Happy New Year to those who celebrate.

I have had a Laptop running Vista for about 5 months now. It came with Wireless card built in and from the 1st day out of the box I was able to connect without a problem. I used a network at work which i setup so I know the password is valid. I also use a home network which worked fine with my Laptop, Psp and Xbox 360 and i also have used a friends wireless router with no problems.

about a month ago the wireless just stopped connecting. It would see the network name and would even go through the process of identifying the network but would only ever connect as Local only, no internet access. I have uninstalled anything from the last day it worked I have removed updates, checked the security and generally ensured that nothing obvious has changed since it last connected. I had Virgin broadband installed at home last month and did run the setup disk on the Laptop but despite there being an ethernet connection the disk couldnt locate it and I abandoned the installation, but as i said before i have unistalled and rolled back to before this time. my Laptop spec is as follows

Gateway Laptop running Vista Home Premium o/s
    intel celeron M CPU 1.60GHz
    Memory - 1014 MB
    32 Bit operating system

Marvell Yukon PCI-E Fast ethernet controller
    Realtek RTL8187 802.11g 54mps USB 2.0 Network adapter

I have unistalled and reinstalled the drivers and short of a clean install im out of ideas. I dont want to reinstall the whole o/s without figuring out what the problem is first. A it is a hassle and B if it happened once it could happen again. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. as usual any questions just ask and I will post whatever relevant extra details are asked for.

    Regards Mandy

    Wireless still out

Afternoon all, I wanted to add a couple of things to my post from yesterday. I have reset and reinstalled all wireless setup at home but still to no avail. After restoring to an ealier date on the laptop an icon/connection appeared that I had not noticed there recently. it was a Wan mini connection that was disabled. However I have enabled deleted, reset and connected everything I can (to the best of my knowledge) and it still wont connect to anything. I am still able to connect all my other wireless devices to the previously mentioned Routers but not my laptop. It must be something simple (bit like me) but I am without much of a clue. i feel it must be a setting somewhere that I have missed.

thanks for still looking hopefully hear from someone soon.
