My wireless Internet (Intel Pro/Wireless) says it's ''not connected''. It used to work fine. I have not installed anything to mess it up. When I try to repair it, it won't repair and states reason ''not connected''. Wireless switch is turned on. Device manager shows everything ok and indicates that the device is working properly. I tried disabling and enabling device to no avail. What could be the problem?

It looks like you did not mention the signal on your computer.

Here goes.......Public Hot Spot is the airport. When I'm visiting realtives who live very NEAR the airport, sometimes you can connect to airport service. I used to do it for a minute or so just to make sure the WiFi was working. This was with my Toshiba M45-S269. All this worked fine right out of the box. I didn't have to install or do anything to the system. Here's the tricky part....when I'm at home away from the airport I just try to see if anything is up and running around my neighborhood. The city is supposed to be working on FREE Internet Acess (WiFi) throughtout the city. Downtown and a few other areas are already up and running.

I have Verizon Wireless Broadband as my Internet Access but evey now and then I try the WiFi to see if it's up and running in my neighborhood. When I would get on WiFi near the airport something was always in range and I never got a "not connected" message over there. However in my neighborhood is when I first noticed this message. That's why I was wondering if it's simply because there's nothing around here.

I did not make any changes to my WiFi setup.

Went to relatives house near the airport. Everythng works fine. If you are not near a WiFi connection you will get the message "not connected" which I was interperting as my WiFi was not connected within my system. It is connected and working fine.
