Is anybody aware of any external wireless receiver wheather it be G or N that plugs into the CAT5 ethernet card?

The reason I ask is most wireless devices have two requirements. One they have to use Windows XP and second the USB port has to be a 2.0.

I tried installing a 2.0 PCI card but couldn't get Windows 98 SE to recognize the drivers on the mini CD that came with it. As usual.

Belkin makes a G reciever that is suppose to work with 98 SE but I think my 1.0 USB port is the issue.

    So I'm at a catch 22 situation.

This computer is going in a yard barn at my parent's beach house so it's basically a junk computer I threw together with used parts.

    Hi Jseabolt,
have a look at the Netgear DG834G Router and WG311 PCI card, either that or upgrade your system as steve suggested, I've found Xp will run on anything from PII up with the right amount of ram

Don't know if this will help. I am running an old Gateway with 98SE. My wirless connection is a US Robotics USR805422 USB adaptor. Have no problems.
