I currently run a service business which requires me to travel to my customer's location. I typically collect a check from the customer in payment for service and often times the check is no good. I would like to be able to have my customer pay online via a credit card, but often, there is no internet connection available in these locations.

How would I use my laptop computer to connect to the internet when I am not near a phoneline (hardwire), or near a wireless hotspot?

I believe I have heard that I can connect thru my mobile phone... if so, what type of hardware do i need to do this?

    Thanks greatly,

    paps

Your laptop needs to have Bluetooth or IR capabilities, same as your cell phone.

Then you'll need to set up a modem driver on your laptop so it can use your cell phone.

Obviously your (cell) network must also support Internet Connections.

Verizon has the new service for wireless internet connection "almost" anywhere.
