    Greetings,
is it possible for two wireless laptops to transfer files Without going thru a server. I have a new laptop that i would like to "pull" some data from an older machine to (Yoda effects the way we all speak now) :)
can these to XP machines talk directly to each other?

    Thanks

You can build or buy what we used to call a "Null Modem Cable ". (are they still called the same??)

Basically what it is is a standard modem cable that has the send and receive connections reversed on one end. You would connect the cable to the the seriel ports of the machines.

I believe there are also USB cables that will do the same.

As far as linking them on the wireless... probably can but someone else would have to instruct you on it. The farthest I've gone with wireless is the wireless router for my DSL.
