    Looking for a link to the DoD hard drive erasing program.

    Many programs are out there that say they use the DoD standard
    and maybe they do but there used to be the actual program by
    DoD on the web (and it was a free program).

    I've searched google, cnet and zdnet with no luck.

    Anyone know where the actual DoD program can be found?

    Thanks,
    savagcl

    It doesn't trigger my memory, what does "DoD" stand for? I use DelPart to wipe hard disks. It doesn't overwrite with zeroes, it just deletes the partitions.

    Christer,

    DoD = Department of Defense.
