    quick question.......In win-xp HOW the Heck do you eliminate programs from starting when windows starts. Corel wordperfect will NOT STOP LOADING even though I changed it in options not to???? Thanks

    I don't have the app so can't say for sure but try start~run~msconfig and see if there is a startup entry for it. If so, just uncheck it and it should quit starting.

    Also make sure there is no shortcut to it in the startup folders for All Users or your user account.

    Some apps will start, even if they're unchecked in msconfig. You just end up with multiple entries. (Real player/jukebox come to mind :mad: )
    There are 4 ways a program can start.
    The startup folder.
    The registry under HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run (msconfig looks here).
    In system.ini or win.ini with a line starting run=
    Within the program itself.
    I'm sure if you look in all 4 locations, you'll find out which way it's starting and how to remove it. It may even be in more than one location.
