I have Win2k running on my machine, and decided I would try to upgrade to WinXP using the CD that came with my parents machine. Well, it was too much of a hassle, so I uninstalled it and went back to Win2k. Even after formatting the drive it was installed on (separate from Win2k), and formatting the drive that Win2k was on (and reinstalled because of an unrelated problem) I still get a message during bootup that asks me if I would like to start Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and the screen stays there counting down from 30 seconds until it defaults to Win2k. Anyone know if there was a file somewhere that i missed that needs to be deleted, that still makes the computer think WinXP is installed? I'd really like to get rid of whatever it is so my system boots right into Win2k. Thanks!

Edit the XP component out of your boot.ini file, you never know! ;)
