Winxp boot up problems

I am having problems booting to win xp. It won't boot unless i have the xp cd in the drive, when the cd isnt in the machine stops on "searching for boot from CDROM "

The machine was working ok, the problem only started yesterday!

It could be as simple as... your BIOS settings have changed?
Check under BIOS FEATURES SETUP (or similar) that the Boot Sequence (First Boot) is set to the HD that the OS is on. I.E. C or HDD0.

 

Post a copy of your boot.ini file (should be in the root of the system drive but will be hidden).
