My laptop computer at the office has Automatic Updates checked on but there is no way for me to uncheck it because it's all grayed out. They have the MS SUS client on the machine running. I can't figure out what registry setting makes this lock/unlock the settings in the Automatic Update window. This is the window that if you do a properties on My Computer and select the Automatic Updates. The Automatic radio button is checked and grayed out.
    Any ideas?

Several likely possibilities since it sounds like you are on a managed network:

    - your account lacks rights to make a change in the setting
    - the setting is controlled by a group policy that is applied when you log on.

We have opted not to have any automatic updating where I work and even the tab is missing.
