Winsock

Hi

I am using a Windows ME edition and i need to know how to reinstall Winsock.

If anyone knows how to do this, any help would be GREAT!!!

While Charlesvar link will help you, what happened to have the winsock suddenly go wrong? Some spy\adware removal?

Yes, i use spybot S&D and i have read that it damages it and now i cant connect to msn messenger because of that.

It isn't Spybot that damaged it, it was whatever that had installed itself into your winsock that did this.
After you run the Lspfix, it would be a good idea to post a HijackThis log. You had spy/adware, and HJT will show anything left over. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
Unzip HJT into it's own folder. Do the Scan, when done, the Scan button changes to Save Log. Post the entire thing.
You mentioned MSN Messenger, do you have Messenger Plus! installed? If you do, have MSN Messenger closed and uninstall Messenger Plus! and reboot. It is adware.

 

No i dont have plus installed, dont think i really needed it. Thanks for telling me its spyware
