I came across this message tonite while running the Microsoft System Information Tool on my PC with Win 98SE. Should I be concerned that it reports that there is no useable winsock DLL? My concern is that Winsock is under Network which is under Components on my System Information Screen and I want to know if this message means that there is going to be a problem when I attempt to hook up my PC to DSL eventually since that is a network connection?

Resolved: WINSOCK Information: No Usable Winsock DLL

I fixed the problem. When I went back and ran the diagnostics again it said it was working fine. I don't know why I got the error previously but then again, it is a computer, and an old one at that. Thanks for everyone's advice!
Nothing was needed on my part for a fix except to reboot and run the system check again and it was there. Since my dialup works, this also affirms it is there since I understand that Winsock has to do with my dialup modem.
