If anyone does not have this compression software, the latest version is being given away free for the next 19 hours or so.
"Get WinRAR 3.51 for FREE on Sunday.
We are offering a WinRAR 3.51 single user license, non upgradeable version this Sunday the 30th of July 2006 from 00:00 until 24:00 CET for absolutely FREE.
Please click the following link which will become active on Sunday. Fill
out the form on that page in order to receive further information
via e-mail about how to get your FREE version of WinRAR.

Please remember that this is a ONE day special offer ONLY. Tell all
your friends and family and celebrate with us by taking advantage
of this special one time only offer. "

CET is Central European Time, so two hours ahead of GMT. The download you will get is a Registration Key in a .rar file. So you must first download the 40 day trial version of WinRAR 3.51, install it and then activate the Key.

And without looking a gift horse in the face, the WinRAR people are working hard on v3.6, which is in beta. So I suspect you may be offered an upgrade for a charge shortly.

Been using this for nearly a year now and had no problems with it. Supports RAR and just about everything else. Only archiver I've needed since I got it.

I rarely, if ever zip anything, but obviously need to unzip and the XP facility works perfectly. Used to use WinZip but never got round to loading it on this build.

    But if someone's offering a useful freebie - then I'm in :)
