winnt file missing

My "systemced" file in c:\winnt\system32\config\ is damaged.
I cant get the computer to go into windows.
It asked me to run the winNT cd and hit "r" to repair, but when I do that it searches for a bootdisk for the system, the which I dont have. I can go into a dos mode screen, but I dont know what comand line to type, specificaly for the computer to find that file on the cd and copy it to the c drive.
