I want to exclude my TiVo Desktop from Windows Firewall so I can have photos on my hard drive running continuously Thanksgiving Day on my TV, but when I try to change settings I get: "Windwos cannot start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service. "

I read (as much as I could understand) the Mailman's and dcfrazel's exchanges on this subject, but, frankly, it got too technical for me. Is there a simple solution?

P.S. Well, yes, one "simple solution" would be to run the photos from a CD, and I may just do that.

You have any other software running that provides a firewall service?

Any relevant errors listed in Event Viewer?

    Thank you, Arie

Arie, thank you for offering to help. Late last night I discovered that it wasn't a firewall problem at all; it was that I hadn't "published" my photos properly on the TiVo Desktop. Once I did that, I had trouble accessing them in the form of a slide show on my TV in the other room. I love this TiVo!
