I have a Windows XP Professional computer. The sound that plays is very low, like if the volume control would be almost all the way off. The thing is, is that the volume control is turned all the way up. Any suggestions????

I do not have powered speakers. All I have is the speakers that are built into the computer itself. The sound is coming out of the back of the computer.

The fact that your speakers are not external or powered really does not matter - There are a number of points in that thread that you should check, particularly the volume settings for each media player you have installed.

Which media player are you using?

If setting the volume to max in all of those does not resolve the problem I suggst you reinstall the sound drivers.

Do you hear the standard windows "ding" sound when you open up the volume slider from single clicking on the volume icon where the time shows up on your taskbar?

Do you even have the volume icon on your taskbar?
