    WINDOWS XP UPDATES
SINCE I HAVE DOWNLOADED & INSTALLED SEVERAL OF THESE WINDOWS UPDATES SOME OF MY ICONS ON MY TASK BAR DON’T ALWAYS LOAD WHEN I START UP. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS: ARE THEY LISTED AS HOTFIX IN THE ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS? ARE THE ONES WITH SP2 @ THE END SECURITY UPDATES? WHAT IF I REMOVE ALL BUT THE SP 2’S? IS THIS THE WAY I SHOULD DO IT?:)

    Nick.

It's nothing to do with Windows Updates - look here under N = Notification Area

FYI - the updates listed in Add/Remove programs are all those which MS deem to be 'critical'. SP2 refers to those issued after SP1 and which will be included in the imminent (Q3) Service Pack 2

NB : Please kill that Caps Lock :)
