It looks like the system can't find the hard drive.

What is the history behind this probelm?
Did you make ANY type of change to the pc?
    Is it a new build?
Was the pc working fine then you get these errors?

Windows XP Home edition difficult start-up

Hi Steve,It is not a new build and has been working ok for two years, only in the last three days did this 'boot from cd-rom failure' show itself, I do not have to put the system disk in, it will eventualy start after pressing 'enter'.
I recently installed 'photology' a photo catalogue system, I have uninstalled it thinking this may be the cause. I have de-fragged and deleted cookies etc;.
It is workable but takes a time to get to the users window.

Look in the BIOS for Boot Sequence and change the boot order to Hard Drive first.
