Whilst giving my mouse a wriggle on the mouse mat to untangle the lead I accidentally pressed one fo the buttons whilst doing so. What happened was I think I grabbed the edge of the region where the clock sits and have now stretched the start bar upward so that it is about an inch tall. The ten icons that normally line up along that end of the start bar are now stacked three high in four columns. Try as I might I cannot find a way of retutning it all back to normal. Have tried right-click - properties, lock, unlock, you name it I've been there. If I gab the top edge with the mouse I can either have it in the enlarged size or not there at all. There is no in between stage.

Does anyone have any bright ideas before I go for a complete fresh install?:(

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for that one. However, this does not do any good at all. I can grab the top edge and either have no task bar or a big fat tall task bar. There are no stages in between.

Have you a System Restore point just prior to wriggling the mouse?
